Meet each of my current and recent past Cardigans.  I consider each to be special with their own unique personality, character and talent.

Hunter was my introduction to Cardigans and above all else is my heart dog.  He came to me as a pet at 15 months old and I soon found that both Hunter and I Ioved herding.

After considerable time and effort trying to not only learn herding myself but also teach a young dog, I decided Hunter deserved a real chance to compete.  Kelly Orr of New Plymouth started training Hunter and after just a few months we entered Hunter in an ASCA trial.  Hunter finished his started title with two qualifying scores including a 3rd place.  In 5 herding trials Hunter finished three ASCA titles and an AKC started sheep title at the 2006 CWCCA Nationals in Kentucky; qualified 10 out of 12 runs; and was in the ribbons 8 of the10 qualifying runs. Hunter was retired after beginning to compete in AKC advanced herding courses but he still loved to occasionally herd some sheep but at home he is affectionately known in the pack as “Uncle Hunter”.

Sadly Hunter went to the Rainbow Bridge quietly in November 2014.

Levi is from my 2013 “Fantasy” litter out of CH Rhoswen Rumor Has It In Blue and CH Pecan Valley Midas Touch.

Levi has a lot of physical attributes to like and a wonderful, easy going attitude to boot.  He is my third generation, home-bred Cardigan.  A Rumor son, Gabbi grandson and Skid great grandson.  He has found his niche at Rhoswen and is a wonderful ambassador of the breed

Pictured at 7 weeks, 3 years, and at 11 weeks showing some nice herding potential.    DM clear; CERF clear, Preliminary OFA Fair, fluff coat carrier and PRA clear through a combination.

Skid came from Amy Hill in Florida.  Her dam is CH Cornerstone’s Lady Liberty HXAs ROMS who was only a few points away from finishing her Dual Championship before an injury ended her competitive herding career.  Her sire is CH Paradiddle’s Token of Love.

Skid has lived up to all my expectations during her show and herding career.  After being retired in 2009 from the conformation ring, I was asked to bring her out as a “filler” to help build a major at the Boise Cluster shows.  She earned two 4 point majors; two winners bitch honors and a best of opposite sex to finish her conformation championship.  Skid’s herding career includes a Reserve High in Trial and two first place finishes from the intermediate sheep class at the 2009 CWCCA Nationals in Kansas; High Scoring Cardigan from the started sheep class in Washington; finished her ASCA open herding title with a score of 112 and first in class against Border Collies and Kelpies. in 2010 she took first in the Herding Titled Bitch class at the CWCCA Nationals in Houston, TX.  In May 2012, Skid took a HIT(other breed) finishing her ASCA Advanced Trial Dog title then followed it up the following weekend with a High Scoring Cardigan in Trial and completing her AKC Advanced Herding title.

Skid went to the rainbow bridge in her own unique style on June 30, 2016.  Her talent and quirky personality will not be forgotten.

Gabbi is from my breeding to FIN/NO/SW CH Trenwydd’s Silver Wizard “Lucas” and Skid.  She is a bit of a princess and loves to be treated accordingly. She has been the foundation of what I feel is becoming the standard for quality puppies from Rhoswen

Her show career started with a Reserve Winners Bitch from the 6-9 month old puppy class at a supported entry in Oregon and a total entry of 30+ Cardigans.  She has continued to accumulate four Best of Breed wins; various BOS and Winners awards as well as two Group 4 and one Group 3 wins (Bred by Exhibitor).  All with limited showing.  Gabbi finished her championship in May 2012 with a 3 point major (handled by Diana Mann) in June she picked up her first grand champion 4 point major over specials.

Gabbi also worked stock showing lots of instinct, power and natural ability.  She completed her first pre-trial leg despite some very ornery goats at the 2009 Cardigan Nationals. And, after 7 years, no training, and again on goats, Gabbi decided it was time to finish her PT title in June 2016-- she was ably handled by Kelly Orr, New Pymouth, ID.

I was very excited that Eric and Paula Weller in Washington gave me the opportunity to own Nikki.  Her early promise earned her Winners Bitch at the 2011 CWCCA Nationals in Texas over 55+ bitches and won both the 12-15 month old puppy sweepstakes and regular classes. the following month she earned another Winners Bitch/Best of Winners/Best of Opposite for a 4 point major in So. Jordan Utah.

In August, Nikki finished her championship going WB/BOW/BOB over specials and the next day was moved up and again took BOB over specials for her first Grand Championship major points in Dixon, CA.  Nikki finished her Grand Championship two months later earning 5 major point wins AND a Herding Group 2 along the way. She qualified for the 2012 AKC/Eukanuba Championship show in Orlando, Florida; holds all-breed and breed rankings; one Herding Group 1; two Group 2, two Group 3 and two Group 4 wins; finished in the Cardigan Top 10 All-Breed rankings for 2012 in All Systems; and finished her GCH, along with bronze and silver level Grand Championships. Nikki was exclusively handled by Angelia Hall.  Needless to say both myself and co-owner Paula Weller were thrilled with her show successes.

She is now retired from her show career and is now living with Paula. She was sired by  GCH/CAN CH C-Myste Baledwr Pursuit of Happiness, ROMs HXAs CD RN CGC TT x Wellshire Lady Luck, ROMb.

Nikki is now CHIC chic3a Registered, No. 86672

This youngster is from my early summer 2011 “Texas” litter out of Skid and DC HTCh WTCh Coedwig’s Malachite ROMg VC RN OFTDs.  From the very start Elle showed very strong maternal instincts by looking after the other puppies and service dog potential.  She is extremely intelligent and observant about life around her.  She is wise beyond her years and just seems able to figure out almost anything without being told.  Elle is my constant shadow and companion.  PRA clear by parentage; DM clear (DNA Tested), OFA (WCC-EYE-188/62F-NOPI) clear, and Coat Length normal (DNA tested).

Rumor is from my 2011 “Rock and Roll” litter sired by AUS/AM CH Coedwig’s Eye of the Storm and my own Gabbi.  She takes after her mother’s English side of the pedigree and has bone and substance to spare, beautiful head and glamour coat to boot.  Angie Hall started Rumor’s show career by accumulating an impressing array of wins in a very short period of time: multiple Winners Bitch, Best of Winners and BOS honors including WB and BOW for major points at the So. California Regional Specialty. At The CWCCA Nationals in Tucson, Rumor won a very competitive open bitch class under breeder judge Steve Gladstone. Judge Gladstone’s critique: “Good substance and body.  Nice silhouette, good bone and length.  Moves soundly.  Well balanced.”  She finished her Championship in short order at the 2014 Land 0’Lakes Herding Group Specialty and all breed shows with two majors (WB/BOW) under judges Paul and Windy Willhauck with Mackenzie Mann handling.

Rumor is now living in Canada and will be shown on a limited basis.
